The Northumberland Association for Progressive Stewardship (NAPS)
presented the NAPS Distinguished Citizen
Award for 2002 to Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern Foundation, and included the
Tavern Rangers and the Tavern Quilt Guild. The award is given to an
individual, business or organization that has shown support for the goals and
objectives of NAPS, which are mainly the preservation and restoration of the
environment in the Northern Neck of Virginia.
